What is Plaque?

Plaque is a sticky, white bacteria (bugs-germs).

What is Calculus?

Calculus is plaque that has been calcified or hardened by the minerals in your saliva.

What is gum disease?

Gum disease is a bacterial infection which affects the surrounding tissue of the teeth.  This includes both bone and  gums.  Bacteria may also be deposited in the bloodstream by the compromised gum tissue.

What happens if I don’t have my gum disease treated?

Gum disease progresses silently without  (in most cases) the symptoms of pain.  There usually are no symptoms until the disease is advanced.    Severe gum infection can interact with other health problems such as stroke, heart disease and diabetes.
